Haliaeetus leucogaste
This eagle was standing at the same place every morning waiting for the fishermen to come in with their days catch. I wish I could find the other pictures I took of it. Very tame, we could get close to him.
Tropical coastal areas.

You might add same new spotting..
I take your point, and agree, I've seen the same in parts of the world. Will add to Urban Biodiv too.
I like to comment.
I observed at many Urban and Rural coastal towns that birds are interested in fishermen's collection of fishery. Its commonly seen birds hanging over fishing trailers, lauches, boats etc. May be fishes not come to coast due to pollution in coastal waters. So birds may not find fish at sea surface.
I would, but it wasn't so urban. I spotted it at Perhentian islands when the islands were still quite remote (no electricity at night etc..). I feel urban biodiversity is more for city animals. Good tip on mission though, will add to birds of the world!
Yes ideally a Urban Bio diversity spotting..Add to the mission..!!
Thanks Ashish, and I kind of agree. In fact, the fishers fed him so he probably did consider humans friends!
I feel his eye expressions telling it considering you as friend..!!
Good capture...Lovely bird..!!
Thank you Satyen! I was really taken by the jet-black eyes..
Very detailed picture. Nice.
I managed to find the remaining photos of this gorgeous bird in an SD card long forgotten for those that want to have a look. This eagle is wild, but he was very used to humans.
Thank you! He sure was a beautiful eagle :)
Great picture! You really get the impression it is on the lookout.
