Cyanistes caeruleus
Cherries are ripe and blue tits have been raiding the cherry tree opposite my house. First two pics are of a juvenile (grey cap, yellow face, pale yellow chest), the last two of an adult (blue cap, white face, yellow chest).
Deciduous and mixed woodlands, parks and gardens. Resident breeder throughout temperate and subarctic Europe and western Asia.
In winter will be found in reeds.

It's funny how birds are such a distinctive marker of where one lives Karen... on my side I miss the colour and riotous noises of Australian birds: our European birds are so well behaved in comparison!
I miss the birds I used to watch at my feeders in England - especially the tits and robins (american robins are nowhere near as interesting as the european species in my opinion!) & the magpies which we don't get in Tennessee!
So do I Karen!
I love these little guys!
Thanks Liz!
