These iris were standing about 3 feet tall. These plants are poisonous.

Habitat:

These iris were growing along the bank of the River Ouse, Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK. They need wet, marshy ground to grow.

Notes:

On coats-of-arms, the rigid, sharp-edged iris leaf is depicted like a sword, brandished for combat and is seen as a symbol of knight`s chivalry. The Yellow Iris is also known as Yellow Fleur-de-Lis.
