Coluber constrictor priapus
Believe it to be whats called a blue racer
Found it on the edge of my woods at first in the leaves.
ty for the info
It's a Southern Black Racer (Coluber constrictor priapus). They can appear very blue (as can many subspecies of C. constrictor) and are often called blue racers or blue runners.
Neat to catch him in the tree.
