A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pomoxis nigromaculatus
A black crappie at the Sedgwick Zoo. This can match my white crappie spotting from the Tulsa Aquarium. These are a very popular sport fish and are very widespread, being introduced to all forty-eight of the continental States.
Found in all of the continental United States (that's sans Alaska and Hawaii) and Canada. Introduced populations exist in Mexico and Panama.
