About 1.5 inches across. This is a female as shown by the contrasting black and white areas on her wings - males' wings are more uniformly brown.

I believe this is a Horace's Duskywing and not a very similar Juvenal's Duskywing, because it was flying in July, and Juvenal's are only seen until May. Note the damaged wing.
