Multipede ( Myriapod)

Class: Symphyla

Description:

Tiny, fast moving ,white segmented creatures with about 12 pairs of legs, a pair of cerci and beaded antennae.

Habitat:

Found under bark on an algae covered damp slimy log.

Notes:

These cryptic myriapods feed on detritus in the soil and sometimes on root hairs. They are more closely related to millipedes than centipedes. Interesting reading: http://peonyden.blogspot.com.au/2010_04_...
