Thomisidae
Crab Spider (Thomisidae) ambushing bees
superb series of shots of an ambush specialist!
my spotting of a crab spider is similar to this http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/636... and these lttle fellas are waiting for prey: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/639... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/637...
Educational! Thanks. I once saw an anole jump a couple feet to try to catch a butterfly on a Rose, but I have never seen a spider take something so much bigger without first wrapping it in his web.
nice shot!
Yes, I feel sad for the bees
Now I see why they use that camouflage color-changing. Bees don't have a chance.
