Orb Weaver Spider

Description:

Larinioides sp. maybe? This spider has been hanging out in my wing mirror for a few weeks. I don't know if it's the same one that was in there all last summer... can spiders hibernate and survive a Chicago winter? Anyway, I've been finding webs between the mirror and the car door almost every day. Then I drive the car and the web gets destroyed and the next day it's back again. If I don't drive for a few days, the web gets huge! Yesterday as I was driving to a forest preserve, I was sitting at a red light and noticed the 'homeowner' crawling out from the mirror housing and grabbed my camera. Anyone know specifically what kind of orb weaver this might be?
