Tubastrea aurea
Tubastrea coccinea, commonly known as the orange cup coral, is a polyp stony coral with an orange coloring; colonies are spherical to mound shaped and can be up to 14 cm in diameter. This coral eats phytoplankton, small shrimp, and small fish. Is a brooder which means that they reproduce by releasing eggs and sperm into the water which join to form a planula, a free floating zygote. Tubastrea coccinea is a very adaptable coral because it does not feed upon light.
Is very common in the Galapagos but can also be found in other areas of the Pacific, IndoPacific and the Caribbean.

Hello Marta, lovely coral and picture =)
After checking in my log books it seems the pics were in Floreana Island, Devils Crown dive site :-)
It was a day dive but the weather was cloudy most of the time we were there so we had to use flash indeed for the underwater shots.
Cool pics! Night dive?
