Indigo Bunting (female)

Notes:

When seen in the shade this female Indigo bunting looks ordinary and brown, but when you see it in the sunlight you see the bluish colors in it's feathers. According to Audubon Guides the male Indigo Bunting is black, it actually has no blue pigment, the brilliant blue color comes from the light diffraction through the structure of the feathers.
