I think it is a Flat-backed Millipede but there are at least 2 genera with that common name. If anyone has expertise on these guys please chime in.

Alice, I just did a bit of research and have discovered that this is a millipede rather than a centipede...but that's as far as I gotten so far. Yes, it's hot but today there was a drop in temp to the 80's. I'm in SC

Millipedes have 2 legs per segment, centipedes have 1.

yes indeed i also think this is a centipede. It also looks a bit like Athro Ploura!
