Plateau pika

Ochotona curzoniae

The plateau pika is one of the most common mammals on the Tibetan plateau. As a lagomorph, it does not hibernate in winter - and thus serves as key source of food for many predators, both summer and winter. It is a keystone species. Also known as the black lipped pika.
