Malurus cyaneus
Blue black & white body (male), tail held up. Female & young, light grey/brown bodies, tail held up & some blue in tail. Fledgling (I assume?!) had only the beginnings of a tail. Body up to 15cm long
Areas with thick underground & leaf litter
Form family groups which help to raise the young - the adults in this group seemed to be calling for the delightfully ovoid fledgling. Mainly eat insects but some seeds & fruit.
