Tarantula zebra

Description:

The zebra or striped knee tarantula, inhabits most of western Costa Rica, they are also seen all thru Central America. They are black with white stripes around the joints. Nicaragua specimens are tan. They dig deep burrows and live in semi-arid open grasslands. These spiders can grow to 10-13 cm including legs. Females can live for 20 years, and the males about 5 years, The diet consists of many insects.
