Frog eggs

Order Anura

Description:

I heard LOUD frog noise (it's mating season!) and spotted several clusters of frog eggs in the water. Photo 1 of 2 is a copy of the original photograph, annotated to highlight the egg clusters; Photo 2 of 2 is the original photograph. There may be other egg clusters in the water; I highlighted two of the more obvious clusters. Editor's Note: I shot the photo using an iPhone 3GS camera that does not feature an optical zoom lens, therefore the photo shows relatively little detail in the egg clusters. Nonetheless, I encourage spotters to speculate regarding the type of frog that laid the eggs.

Habitat:

Huntley Meadows Park, a 1,425 acre wetland area in Fairfax County, Virginia USA. Related Resource: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/huntl...
