Black Soldier Fly

Hermetia illucens Linnaeus

Description:

All back. Winged. Slow flying. A little clumsy.

Notes:

There are about 8 of them sleeping on the side of my composter. They are all black and they fly. They move their antennae while sitting still. They seem to be attracted to the spider webs and fly into them, but are too heavy and fall right out.
