Silver-spotted Skipper

Epargyreus clarus

Description:

Mid-afternoon feast as hundreds of Silver-spotted Skippers flitted about a planting of Lantanas. Large skipper common in most of the U.S. Several sources note that adults rarely feed on yellow flowers, but they don't say why ... anybody know?
