Female is the big one, the male is the little one piggy-back on the rear. These are always best admired from a distance. While most "stick insects" are harmless, this species can (and will) spray a potent chemical which, if it gets in your eyes, can cause temporary blindness. I've never experienced it, but I still play it safe around them, and resist the urge to pick them up.
