Buceros bicornis
A flock of 5 or 6 of them flew from the top of one tree to another, moving down the valley.

Lovely!
pure freedom!
And the female fully molts while in the safety of her "prison."
Such an impressive bird. Can't believe how big it is! And how caring parents they are! Whilst the female is barred into the tree, the male goes out and collects food for her and the chicks!
Wow amazing shot!!
"What a lovely flight!"
Never seen one flying in pictures!
It is wonderful to collaborate like this across our beloved planet!
Wonderful addition of information Marta!
What a wonderful catch!
wow! so lucky to see these in the wild. In Europe we have them in some zoos but is much more exciting to find them in their natural habitat.
The amazing thing is what I once saw in a documentary: that the females close themselves up in a tree hole with some paste that they make with their beak and regurgitation, and that solidifies, and stay there until babies are born. The male feeds the female through a little hole she leaves undone but otherwise she is literally "behind bars" through all the incubation process..
Wonderful bird!
