In the opera "Lakme", the protagonist kills herself by consuming Dhatura leaves.
I think I will go dig some more photos of the plant for you Susan. I used to stare in amazement at these plants. My parsnts would yell at me " get away from that it will kill you." so poisonous beauty is a great name too.

I think it might be Dantura. I just never noticed the thorny fruit.
