Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus
The one in the hole is a Scaly-breasted Lorikeet..
Shari.. I have to agree with you.. On my place the Scaly-breasted Lorikeets play with the Rainbow Lorikeets all the time! And they use the same nest boxes!
Scaly-breasted lorikeets (Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus) are a little smaller. Seems strange they would use the same nest. I had a look at juvenile rainbow lorikeet to see if they had different colouring but they just have faded patterns of the adults. It's definitely a scaly-breasted lorikeet in the box. Check it out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scaly-breas...
The first picture looks to me like a Red-Collared Lorikeet, the other is a Rainbow Lorikeet and the green one is a Scaly-Breasted Lorikeet. All very beautiful and fun birds! Lovely pictures!
Thanks AshishNimkar.. And this one is a very funny bird in the bird park.. it love a belly rub...
This photo was taken at a Bird Park.. They also look after injured wild life and are happy for a helping hand!
