Edessa rufomarginata
bright turquoise colored stink bug
central american forests. I found this one in the Manuel Antonio National Park
Unfortunately, these photos are out of focus. Apparently, this brightly colored stink bug is quite common in Costa Rica. It is a true bug of the Heteroptera suborder. More info and a more focused photo can be found here: http://www.animalsandearth.com/photo/vie... rufomarginata#viewed#

Nice spotting :)
I love that blue on it.
Nice series showing various stages of this beauty!
Beautiful capture!!
Incredible colors!
Hi Yasser, today I created a mission for the color blue. Although new missions are only allowed to have a 300 mile radius the intent is global. Can you join the mission and add your blue spottings? Thanks!!!
This spotting proved great colour combinations find in Central American Flora and fauna..!!
Unexpected colour shade in such bugs... Great spotting..!!
Thanks for the help on the other bug Derek! I've made note of it and updated this spotting as well: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/664...
Those are great photos, Yasser! Interestingly enough, I saw this species while I was down there as well! I saw it in Santa Rosa National Park in the northwest, but I'm still working on uploading my photos from La Selva. I was hoping to get an ID for it, and it looks like you've saved me the trouble.
Anyway, as for the other bug, it's a stink bug nymph. It's probably a nymph of that same species, since they're so close together.
I was hoping someone would know the other bug. I have a much clearer photo of it that I will be uploading shortly. I'm guessing it's another true bug (suborder Heteropetera), but I'm not sure. Derek, aka Latimeria, might now as he was recently in Costa Rica too and he's studying insects.
What's the other bug? It looks almost transparent in places. Nice shot!
