Purple Cherokee Heirloom Tomato

Description:

The blooms on this plant are really unusual - each set of blooms has a very large bloom (that doesn't fruit) and several small ones.

Habitat:

Potted tomatoes on my back deck. We are in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevadas right at the snow line - about 3200 ft.

Notes:

Since I just moved to a new area I decided to go with heirlooms from a local outdoor nursery this year. I figured since it was local and the plants where already adjusted to the outdoors they would do well. Unfortunately winter was long and lingering and very nearly killed all my plants. They are all just starting to come back and I've got some decent fruits coming in!

Love your information on California tomatoes. I have a sister that lives in CA and I am going to pass along your suggestions.
