The black widow occurs worldwide including NZ and USA. In America this spider has an hourglass shape red marking but it is the same spider. http://www.upcrc.com/guides/houseid/blkw... In Australia we have a nickname for this black widow spider; the redback. In New zealand they call it a kapito spider. This is the same spider. http://www.animalseatinganimals.com/2010...
