Ants transporting larvae

Monomorium minimum

Description:

Little black ants. We caught them in a parade, transporting larvae from behind the oven fan to the aloe planter about three feet away. It went on for hours. In the second photo, you can see other ants inside the planter waiting for the hand off.

Habitat:

They moved into our home mid-spring and it was really hard to keep them at bay until this event; we moved the planter outside after they were finished and the issue quickly improved. http://urbanentomology.tamu.edu/ants/lit...
