Morton Arboretum amongst many varieties of tree (oak, pine, willow)

I think Potentilla indica is correct. It was too late in the season to see flowers so I cannot confirm their colour. These were quite dense like a ground cover.

there is just one berry, standing tall, yellow flowers

what makes you think it isnt straberry? the leaves to me look like one, may be the plant is just yonge at the moment
