Lunaria annua
One of the many interesting plants growing in the yard of the foreclosed property next door.
My grandmother in the panhandle of FL says they are invasive there. They would be nice in a dried flower arrangement though.
They dry and last wonderfully. I picked some up out of a trash pile in Seattle, Washinton in 2009 and they are still holding up nicely.
These flat disks dry and turn tan. Here's my sighting...
