Spinner Dolphin

Stenella longirostris

Description:

Very social dolphins with prominent beak. Feeds on small mesopelagic fish, squids & sergestid shrimps. They were found in Bohol Sea where has deep waters with plenty of squids.

Habitat:

Tropical waters.

Notes:

Spinner were killed by purse seine fishing for tuna since they were often found associated with a group of tuna. Although the reason for association is unknown, fishers made use of this and locate tuna by sighting of dolphins, many dolphins were killed as by-catch.

Aman, you mean whether they are wild or in captivity?
They were wild group found in Southern Bohol Sea off Jagna. There were plenty of cetaceans in that region =] (Or I misunderstood your question?)
