Description:

All black, with iridescent feathers, measuring 40–50 cm (16–20 in), almost half of which is tail.

Habitat:

Found throughout much of North America; this bird was spotted in Elton, Pennsylvania

Notes:

American crows are susceptible to the West Nile virus, but direct transmission of the virus from crows to humans is impossible.
