Weasels come in all sizes. The weasel family includes tiny short-tail weasels and the large wolverines. All weasels are very aggressive hunters and, yes, a small weasel like this one will take rabbits and other animals larger than themselves, but I wouldn't be surprised that they eat fresh roadkill as well. This animal appears to be Stoat (Mustela erminea), or short-tailed weasel, also known as an ermine in winter, when it turns snowy white with a black tip on the tail.
