Large light brown bird with a black eye patch, grey cheeks and a high crest.

Habitat:

Gather in large noisy flocks, a common urban backyard bird.

Notes:

Spotted in the garden of the Hotel des Milles Collines in Kigali, Rwanda (made famous by the movie Hotel Rwanda).

The way it perches gives the impression that it is sitting amidst the branches, occasionally scurrying like a mouse from one branch to another, its long tail trailing for balance. Lives up to its name!
