Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri
About 4 feet long. Calm.
Chicken coop.
I found this snake in a nesting box in my chicken coop about 7:30 pm. It stayed right where it I found it, long enough for me to yell to my husband to bring the camera and for us to get several shots. Then it went through the coop to the ground, and through the old tin siding sheets into the barn.

Haha well glad you don't have too much of a problem with that :) Good snakes to have around, though they can be pesky at times!
The rat snakes around here stay so busy with swimming in the pond, climbing the trees after nests, and of course, stealing all my chicken eggs, that they are not stressed! :)
Funny how you refer to him as "calm"....rarely have I encountered a calm rat snake haha. Pretty one though!
