Description:

Brown butterfly with distinctive white and red markings on the upper side of the wings. See pics 2 and 3 for the underside. Wing Span: 2 3/8 - 2 5/8 inches (6 - 7 cm).

Habitat:

Spotted at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas. Feeding on fiddlewood.

Notes:

Family: Nymphalidae. Range from south Texas to Panama. Flight: Throughout the year in South Texas.
