Apatelodes torrefacta

Bright Yellow "furry" caterpillar with long black hairs down center of back. Reddish orange tips on prolegs. Caterpillar is pale green underneath the "hair."

Area is a gated man-made lake community, surrounded by rural agricultural land, and some deciduous forest areas. In areas that are not mowed, the land is old fields within the community, and are mowed biannually. Ditchlines and treelines are left untouched.

Thanks for sharing your caterpillar! The furriness makes it easy to find in nature.
