Diaphania hyalinata
Green caterpillar with 2 white lines running down the length of it's back.
Found on Seminole Pumpkin leaves in our vegetable garden.
They have eaten every leaf of this pumpkin for the last month. The pumpkin continues to grow new vines and leaves in spite of this.

Despite every leaf eventually being destroyed I've seen very few caterpillars. Maybe they're mainly active at night. The other cultivar of this plant that I grew never had this much damage. So maybe this cultivar is less resistant or it just happens to be a good year for this caterpillar. Each year in our garden is unique though we grow mostly the same vegetables.
plants evolve to be grazed, if we could keep an ecosystem with caterpillar predators too it would be more in balance
LOVELY PHOTOGRAPHY!!!
