Testudo hermanni
Wild tortoise that has lived in my friends' family garden in Sardinia since forever.
By looking at the flaring of the carapace, especially the nuchal scute above the head, and the scales on the forelimbs, I would identify this as a Hermann's Tortoise. The spur thighed tortoise has much larger leg scales, and the marginated has an indent at the front of the carapace
This might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rep.... It's hard to tell without seeing the shell pattern and general shape, but it looks like you've got three different tortoises to choose from.
