Exidia glandulosa
Grows on a dead tree near a hiking trail I frequent.
This is Exidia recisa, it forms individual fruiting bodies, though often closely clustered are never fused and arise from separate points. T. foliacea fruiting body appears to arise from a single point and are fused together, as here, http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/169...
E. glandulosa forms bodies from multiple points, that are sometimes fused, but always have "glands" on the surface, that would be visible like here, http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/212...
I came across a couple of amber colored ones while looking to identify mine. Perhaps one of those is what you guys have?
One is Amber Jelly Roll (Exidia recisa)
The other is Leafy Brain (Tremella foliacea)
Thanks Jess! I couldn't find this fungi yet; the same as mine. Black Witches Butter fungi seems to be all black and Witches Butter is yellow, but the shape and texture is the same as ours.
I can try @CarolSnowMilne :) I find fungi are one of the hardest things to figure out. I just look through my mushroom books, do some googling and take a best guess!
I was going to just now post some strange fungi. It looks like this. Maybe when you see my note you can pop by and confirm if it is the same! Thank you!
