Lophura leucomelanos
Male - glossy black above, with steel-blue gloss; glossy tail ending in sickle like feathers; whitish edges to rump feathers; bare, scarlet around eyes; long, hairy white crest; brownish-grey underbody; lanceolate breast feathers. Female - reddish-brown, scalloped paler; brown crest and bare scarlet patch around eyes; brown tail; smaller than male in size. Photo taken at Sattal, Uttarakhand, India
