Hummingbird in nest

Hummingbird nesting.

Forest of oak, ash, hazel, etc. in the flood plain of the Long Tom River.

Both parents were seen to be in the nest at the same time at times, spotted usually by their bills stuck into the air. Despite a lot of people moving near the nest for a week, they stuck with their task of hatching their eggs.

Very nice shot. I got a very similar shot about a month ago. Even though these birds were on opposite sides of the continent their nest building techniques are remarkably consistent.
