Eastern phoebe

Sayornis phoebe

Description:

A pair of young phoebes that fledged this morning.

Habitat:

Nest is under the eaves of a house in a clearing in mixed forest.

Notes:

These two spent all day in the wildflower patch under our bedroom window. The parents visited frequently bringing them moths they were catching in the garden. Even at this tender age, they were pumping their tiny tails! For those concerned, these photos were taken from inside the house with a zoom lens (so no, I didn't approach them).

It seems like they fell off their nest. How did they fare in the end? Hope they survived..
