IO Moth (Female)

Automeris io

Description:

Large moth appropriately 3 inches across. Light brown color. Females tend to be more brown and males tend to be more yellow. They both have large eye looking marks on there lower wings. Assuming this is a defense mechanism.

Habitat:

I noticed this one at a camp located in a brackish marsh on the Gulf Coast in Louisiana.

No problem. You have some great spottings so I wanted to be sure you were aware of the Louisiana mission.

I added it to the mission. I guess I need to go back and add a bunch of my spottings to that mission! Thanks Apple!
