Quercus chapmanii
This oak is a member of the family Fagaceae. It has simple, alternate smooth leaves that are wavy, almost lobed, and the leaves turn and drop in winter. The undersides of the leaves are lighter with tiny hairs along midvein. Small ½ inch acorns are produced in pairs and the bark is light gray and scaly. They are small trees.
Found in a dry sandy area of a Florida scrub habitat.
