Orchis Militaris
Hairless plant to approx. 35cm tall, lower leaves elliptic and pointed, upper leaves smaller with dark purple spots. Flowers in a dense spike, pinkish-purple with white spots on or near the lower lip.
Sparsely wooded grassland bordering on the edge of a meadow. Limestone rich soil with plenty of run-off from above of loam and calcerous soils.
