Eastern black swallowtail

Description:

This is my second batch of eastern black swallowtails this summer that I’ve watched from egg to chrysalis. This was one of nine. This one I found interesting because I caught it post-molt where it’s coloration was almost all white. Sadly this one didn’t make it, but I have 4 in chrysalis out of 9. Much better ratio than my last group where I ended up with only one butterfly survivor.
