Prionotus ophryas
Mottled and spotted, gray to reddish brown. body and fins may exhibit bars and bands. Large head with tapered snout. Pectoral fins long, and fan-like when extended.
Prefer shallow areas of sea grass, sand and coral rubble. When foraging, "walk" about on finger-like spines of pectoral fins, which are also used like hands to turn over rubble.
Somewhat wary; when approached, typically spread pectoral fins and swim a short distance away.
