Common Merganser

Description:

Only got this one pix of him.... Medium sized shore bird.. white black/green head and all white neck... could he be a goldeneye duck?

Habitat:

Woodward Res. in Ca. ventral valley.... many snow geese and other shore birds nearby.... but this guy was lonely
