Hi Alice, you are right it is a tickseed hybrid :) I think the ID is correct. Check out the link (http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1598...)
I was riding my bike on my way to work and I stopped when I saw this pretty flower outside the botanical garden by their ponds. I will be posting some flowers I saw at nearby Schenly Park; I'd need some help with those :) Thanks for all your feedback. I appreciate it.

Sorry this is not tickseed.. The petals are incorrect and they are only yellow unless this is a strange hybrid. I thought maybe Cosmos, but it has a yellow center. Someone is going to need to ID it. Pretty picture.
