Podarcis muralis
A lovely lizard with yellow/green markings sunning itself on a stone wall.
In the medieval city of Pienza
Aka Common Wall Lizard
I believe you're correct. They do have quite a variation in coloring and pattern. Thank you lori.tas!
I think it's Podarcis muralis, the common wall lizard. They're very variable.
I found another photo of the lizard in hopes of finding an ID. Unfortunately it's taken from farther back than the others but it's a different angle.
it seems bit different...
It may be a subspecies of Italian wall lizard. Any thoughts?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_wal...
i think its a flat lizard.. could be the female or male in non-breeding color form..
Skink..?
