Spanish Moss

Tillandsia usneoides

Description:

Spanish Moss is commonly seen hanging from oak and cypress trees. It is not really a moss at all but a bromeliad. Fortunately, it takes its nutrients from the air and does not damage the tree that supports it.

Habitat:

Southeastern US. Spotted in the tropical south.
